OpenMind player
June 8, 2007 by jjakes · 2 Comments · Assessment
This is the link for downloading the free OpenMind player which will enable anyone else without OpenMind to view your OpenMind projects.
People can view all the attachments and text notes, the restriction is that they can’t create or amend anything. Hope this is helpful.
An excellent game …. but we lost!

Bubbl.us – the online brainstorm tool
May 20, 2007 by jjakes · 4 Comments · blog, Brainstorm, IWB, web 2.0
I have decided to use this tool as part of an activity with the transformation teachers group tomorrow. Each group will work on their own brainstorm and can also view what other groups are doing. The site claims to be able to embed in blogs so this is a test.
Try this link to see the system
I don’t seem to be able to embed the brainstorm so I am going to contact both edublogs and bubbl.us to see if they can help.

Yenka 3D Shapes
At the start of June, Crocodile Clips will be launching Yenka 3D Shapes.
It’s a new user-friendly 3D geometry tool which lets teachers and students experiment with shapes, measurement, scale and volume.
Visit www.yenka.com to watch a video showing you the software in action.
Before the end of May, UK schools can also register for a 25% discount voucher.
This software looks really good, I would advise staff to watch the video. I’m not sure about the cost yet but it would be a great piece of software for Maths and D&T. Please let me know what you think.
