Yenka 3D Shapes
At the start of June, Crocodile Clips will be launching Yenka 3D Shapes.
It’s a new user-friendly 3D geometry tool which lets teachers and students experiment with shapes, measurement, scale and volume.
Visit www.yenka.com to watch a video showing you the software in action.
Before the end of May, UK schools can also register for a 25% discount voucher.
This software looks really good, I would advise staff to watch the video. I’m not sure about the cost yet but it would be a great piece of software for Maths and D&T. Please let me know what you think.

A very nice program! It looks user friendly too which is great! I especially liked the folding of nets.
An alternative piece of software which we have considered purchasing is cabri 3D. http://www.chartwellyorke.com/cabri3d/cabri3d.html
Click on the Becta link showing Cabri in use at Oakmeads community.
I think that Cabri might have more applications at Higher GCSE and KS5 – pythagoras and trigonometry in 3 dimensions, frustrums of a cone etc, while Yenka may have a simpler appearance for our lower ability and younger pupils.
Thanks for this link Judy.

Judy, two things … I can’t access the World Music blog anymore … has it been closed down or something?
Secondly, when I tried to add a comment to your bubbl.us blog, every time I clicked on the comment box to add the comment, I was directed to the bubbl.us website!
Bizarre!
By the way, when will we be able to get the Kar2ouche software?! Thanks!

Music blog is Ok. I’m not sure what was wrong your end, but I have just tested it and it is OK now. By the way when do you want me to install Kar2ouche – I can arrange to do it on Thursday 3.30 if you want.
